For the Donuts:
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar (coconut or organic cane sugar works great!)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (or mashed banana)
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil (or any neutral oil)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
For the Glaze (Optional but SO good!):
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons almond milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a donut pan with a little coconut oil or non-stick spray.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond milk, applesauce, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
Step 4: Fill the Donut Pan
- Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
Step 5: Bake the Donuts
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 6: Prepare the Glaze (If Using)
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, almond milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze or drizzle it over the top.
- Let them sit for a few minutes to allow the glaze to set.
Step 7: Serve & Enjoy!

- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
